Toddlers

Toddlers are learning how to master their environment while experiencing phenomenal growth in their physical skills as well as taking those first precious steps towards independence. The Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers and Twos^© guides our staff in developing age appropriate programs that promote physical, intellectual, emotional and social development coupled with a combination of teacher-directed and self-directed activities.

Toddlers have the opportunity to experience our wonderful outdoor play areas where they can climb and run and enjoy some fresh air. In the summer months our "Splash Day" activities are always a big hit.

Eating with utensils at tables and chairs, napping on mats and beginning to experience circle time and larger group activities really give a strong foundation and good start to our Toddlers. A written record of your child's eating, playing, learning, resting and diapering are given to parents on a daily basis. Building Blocks prides itself on open communication and teamwork between families and staff.

Our nurturing and ever-patient staff are well trained in dealing with the characteristics of an energetic toddler; pushing, pulling, pouring, peek-a-boo, pat-a-cake, "Me Do It", learning to share, "MINE", "no", climb, climb, climb are everyday occurrences in our Toddler program. Music, dance and art keep these little ones busy as they get an early introduction to A,B,C's, 1, 2, 3's, shapes, colors and other emergent literacy skills. We love to ignite the spark of learning and watch these incredible children move through to our twos program.
