Preschool

The Building Blocks Preschool Program provides children the opportunity to participate in many different types of large and small group activities planned and executed to enhance each child’s physical, intellectual, emotional and social growth and development. Building a strong foundation of knowledge and experience is our focus in this age group. Preparing children for success in their elementary school years is of paramount importance to us.

Building Blocks uses The Creative Curriculum for Preschoolers^© and incorporates weekly themes into the daily program. Combinations of teacher-directed and child-directed activities are planned each day. A written record of your child's meals, toileting, resting, playing and learning are given to each family on a daily basis.

Preschoolers at Building Blocks have the opportunity to play outdoors on our state of the art playgrounds every day. They can run, jump, push, pull, climb, and swing while forming positive relationships and friendships that will last throughout their preschool years. Large and small muscle groups will get a workout and help the children develop to their full potential.

The Building Blocks preschool staff is well versed in the developmental milestones of our preschool population and work diligently to enhance their learning experiences each day by guiding and modeling appropriate behaviors and interactions. Language has emerged at this stage of development and our professional teaching staff enhances children's language through active discussions and expands on the children's growing knowledge base of many topics relevant to this age group.

Setting limits and providing structure are also important at this stage of development and our staff is able to provide just the right balance of structured and free choice activities daily.
