When you enroll your child with Building Blocks, the Director will give you an enrollment packet and set up a time to discuss the papers and procedures with you. For your child's safety, and to comply with state regulations, all enrollment papers must be completed and on file by the date your child begins attendance at Building Blocks. The information provided by you on these forms is kept strictly confidential. Information will not be divulged to anyone without your prior consent.
In an effort to alleviate the confusion often associated with the numerous enrollment forms, we have prepared basic instructions to help you prepare. On this website, you will only find the basic application for enrollment and a list of things to bring with you when enrolling your child. You will be given the remainder of the enrollment materials upon registration at the center.
It is normal for your child to have some fears and misgivings about being away from you. Children, like adults, need time to get used to new situations. Try to prepare your child for the changes as far in advance as possible. Discuss any concerns and talk about some of the new people your child will meet and the things your child will do.
First Time Separation
If this is the first time your child has been separated from you, it is natural for your child to be hesitant. A cheerful good-bye kiss from you, a smile, and a reassuring word that you will be back after work is all that you need to do. Our caring staff will take it from there. In most cases, the child will settle down shortly after the parent leaves. If you are enthusiastic, chances are your child will soon be also.Feel free to call Building Blocks at any time throughout the day to see how your child is doing.
